In Situ Synchrotron X‐Ray Diffraction during High‐Pressure Torsion Deformation of Ni and NiTi

چکیده

A down-sized high-pressure torsion device is developed to be used in an INSTRON deformation machine available at the High Energy Materials Science beamline PETRA III. This setup allows obtain synchrotron diffraction patterns situ during severe plastic straining. Two different materials are studied: pure Ni, dislocation density and coherently scattering domain size analyzed; NiTi shape memory alloy, amorphization a reverse martensitic phase transformation investigated. The experiments facilitate characterization of microstructural evolution these depending on uniaxial loading, hydrostatic pressure, torsional strain.
